Welcome to Painted Sky Third Grade!
december

About Me!
I graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA in Elementary Education in 1991. I have been teaching in the Amphitheater School district since 1991. I taught first grade for the first 4 years. After moving to third grade I realized that third grade is my passion, and I have been teaching third grade for 12 years. I came to Painted Sky in the fall of 2002 after 10 years at Rio Vista Elementary and one year at Holaway Elementary School, also in the Amphitheater School District in Tucson. In November 2008, I became a National Board Certified Teacher!

My family and I live in Rancho Vistoso. My husband Jerry and I have been married for 10 years and we have a beautiful 9 year old daughter named Annabel who will be in fourth grade this year at Painted Sky. She is the light of our lives!

My philosophy of teaching is that each child in my class is a special individual with individual needs. I believe children learn in many different ways and should have experiences that encompass the many different learning styles. I think children should be treated with respect, and I insist that the students in my class treat each other with respect.

This year we will be studying many exciting things! We will start the year with the Six Pillars of Character and the Olympics. During the year we will also learn about Greece and Rome, American Government, the Civil War, Explorers, Plants and Life Cycles of the Desert, Sound and Light, Geology, Rocks and Minerals and parts of the Earth, Maps and Globes, and much, much more!

I believe in close communication with parents, therefore you will be hearing from me at least every week in the form of a weekly newsletter. I also send weekly progress reports and I post my grades online for you to be well informed of your child's progress.

I look forward to a great year!

Mrs. Eldridge
