Positve Reinforcement
Classroom management is based on a Token Economy system. Students earn money for compliance to the STARS. This money is given to them on a daily basis in the form of a tally mark that is recorded on a class sheet. Each Friday, the tally sheet is balanced and checks are issued to the students in the amount of their earnings for the week, e.g. PAYCHECKS. Students maintain their own checkbooks and pay for the privledges they have earned, i.e... homework pass=$8.04, snack=$3.00, pencil=$2.37, grab bag=$7.00, bathroom pass=$1.23. A STORE menu of items is in the classroom from which to choose. The bank reserves the right to adjust the cost of items as supply and demand dictate.
