Welcome to Mr. Stewart's Fifth Grade Class
Welcome to fifth grade. I am excited about our class of exceptional students.

Background Information
I am a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. I have been teaching in Tucson in the elementary school setting since 1974. Our ultimate objective for the year is to develop responsible citizens who are contributing members of an ever changing world.

I am a strong proponent of hands-on immersion. I believe that students learn best when they are excited about what they are doing and actively engaged in the learning process. Our activities will emphasize exploration of each student's creative talent to achieve their maximum potential. Curriculum and lessons should be sequential and build on student strengths. Your envolvement in partnership with them will be instrumental to their success. I hope you will feel welcome in contributing your talent and energy to the benefit of our classroom, through your involvement in special activities in class and at home.

I look forward to a rewarding and productive school year.

Sincerly,

Mr. Stewart
