First of all, I apologize for missing last week's update. It was a very busy week to say the least!!
Our focus for the past two weeks has been Native Americans. Our activities revolved around the differences of the tribes and locations. We created totem poles and did scrimshaw prints from the Northwest tribes. For the Southwest we completed pottery and sand art. Our archeological dig brought an awareness of four different areas - Northwest, Southwest, Eastern Woodlands and Plains. We have had a super learning experience these weeks. |

Math Site Telling time is our focus for now. Please give your child every opportunity to tell you what it is at different times of the day. Second grade standards for telling time is that the students should know time to the 5 minutes. |
Although there isn't any written work - because of Thanksgiving, please have your child continue to read for 30 minutes. Remember to sign the Wranglin Reader Sheet as well. |
Arizona State Museum Our field trip is scheduled for December 2nd. The cost of the trip is $4 per person. If you are writing a check, please make it out to Holly Bedford. The link above will give you some information about the Arizona State Museum. |

Invitations came home yesterday for our feast. Please plan to attend. It is a wonderful time for everyone to meet and talk with friends and families. Our class will supply the turkey, stuffing and drinks. Please bring or send in a dish to share with our community. |

The students are still collecting pop tops.

| Sharing Friday - students may bring in a "special" something from home to share with the class. Not only is this a great way to get students to stand and present, it builds a stronger community of friends as we learn more about each other. |
Class T-shirts Each Friday is Spirit Friday - and Second Grade Round-up. The students should wear Wrangler Wear EVERY Friday. The class shirt is a good shirt to help us qualify as having school spirit and meets the requirement as Wrangler Wear. Please remind your child to wear either their class shirt or other Wrangler wear each and every Friday. |

Wrangler Reader sheets came home each month. Please remember to initial these AS your child completes their weekly reading. They are due back in class at the beginning of the next month and new sheets are passed out to the students. Please remember, there is a prize at the end of the year for any second grader that reads 80 hours through-out the year. |
