We continued with our study of different Native American tribes. Students created calendar sticks, dream catchers, sand art, and wampum. Of course, reading activities went along with the craft to help students make connections and remember some of the differences in the tribes. We also planted the Three Sisters so we'll see if our plants grow. Games were a big part of the Native American child's world but they had to use things from nature. We make a stick game as well as a stone game. The stone game was a little more complicated but the students loved both of the games. |

We finished our content lessons on money and will be concentrating on telling time. Students will be working in centers using manipulatives - student clocks, etc. |

Thanksgiving Pot Luck Feast |
You should have gotten your invitation to our Annual Pot Luck Feast on November 25th - the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, at 10:30 a.m. in the upstairs Forer(next to our class). Each student is asked to bring a dish to share with the group. I am hoping that every family will be able to attend. This is a great time to meet your child's friends and their families. The students are really excited!!! |

The November Wrangler Reader sheets are due right after Thanksgiving as well. PLEASE remember to sign the sheets for your student. We have some classroom prizes that the students are trying to earn as well. |

We have two leprechaun families from our class that have donated some tax credit money!!!!!THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! Please still consider donating tax credit money. We will use these funds for our field trips. Be sure you designate the money for Mrs. Horetski's field trips. We certainly appreciate all of the help. We will be going to a play in January and the zoo in the spring. The buses cost $300 for each trip. (That does not include the ticket cost.) We also go to Oro Valley Town Hall but I try to get the district to prorate the bus cost since we are only a mile away. Thank you for your consideration.

| Sharing Friday - students may bring in a "special" something from home to share with the class. Not only is this a great way to get students to stand and present, it builds a stronger community of friends as we learn more about each other. |
Class T-shirts Each Friday is Spirit Friday - and Second Grade Round-up. The students should wear Wrangler Wear EVERY Friday. The class shirt is a good shirt to help us qualify as having school spirit and meets the requirement as Wrangler Wear. Please remind your child to wear either their class shirt or other Wrangler wear each and every Friday. |

Wrangler Reader sheets came home each month. Please remember to initial these AS your child completes their weekly reading. They are due back in class at the beginning of the next month and new sheets are passed out to the students. Please remember, there is a prize at the end of the year for any second grader that reads 80 hours through-out the year. |
