The Study Skills class is an important class for 6th graders. The transition from elementary to middle school can be challenging and we want to make it a successful one for the students. In this class the main focus is on getting the students organized, focused, responsible, and using their agendas. Students are required to write down thier assignments in the school agenda for each academic class. They will be required to have a parent signature daily. The goal is to have the student become used to being organized and responsible for multiple clases.
The class will also focus on study skills, homework, and projects required in other classes. This is the time for the students to get extra help when needed and to work on projects or retake tests. We will also be working on additional skills to help make for a better student throughout the year.
Communication between student, parent, and teacher is a key component of this class.
