Make sure your child has a quiet and well lit place to do thier homework. Keep distractions to a minimum (television, people coming and going).
Make sure the materials your child needs are available. Check the Student Planner daily to check for assignments.
Establish a set time for doing homework each day and make sure to plan for weekend times for big projects.
Please have your child visit the Math Site page, there is a link to their textbook course site where they can practice what they are currently learning as well as take sample tests. This is an excellent resource.
If your child asks for help, provide guidance but don't give them the answer. Do not do the assignment for them, it is their homework and their responsibility.
If your child has a Reading assignment, sit down and read a book with them. Show them that the skills they are learning are related to things you do as an adult.
Watch your child for signs of failure or frustration. Contact thier teacher and discuss any issues and arrange for a conference if necessary.
Reward progress in homework completion. Everyone loves to hear that they are doing a great job.
Seek tutoring assistance by using Project Achieve.
