Welcome to sixth grade language arts and social studies!
All students need to have a book to read for R/S. You must be reading a science fiction, fantasy, or myth this quarter. The next due date for a completed book is November 16. This is different than the original due date. Students have four weeks to finish this book.

What did you do in school today?
Social Studies:
Class work for November 6-Today we completed bellwork. We predicted for a story entitled "The Boy Who Knew His Fate." Then we began to read the Egyptian folktale.

Homework: Make sure that you have research completed on six of the standards. You can use the links on Mrs. Nicholas's website.

Language Arts: Today we wrote the bellwork sentences as a paragraph. Then we handed in Grammar 2.3. Finally, we did a "chalk talk" discussion about the benefits of predicting before reading a text. This was an interesting way for everyone to talk about a topic.

Homework: Parent interview is due on Monday.
