August 21 Social Studies:
Today we finished adding the vocabulary words to our SBoL. Then Mrs. Nicholas explained to use how we learn and use vocabulary. We have sets of words that we recognize and understand when we hear them. This is a larger set of words than the words that we recognize and understand when we speak. The next set of words that we use is the words that we recognize and understand when we read them. The smallest group of words that we use is the set of words that we use for our writing. Mrs. Nicholas told us that we are going too try to expand each group of words. We want to get to the place where we use our vocabulary words in each of the expressive methods: hearing, speaking, reading, and writing.
Homework:
No homework.
