Book Report
|
Each student will be responsible for reading and completing two books each quarter. Much of this reading will be completed in R/S class, but most students will need to read outside of class in order to meet the given deadlines. To document this daily reading your child will be completing a written response in the form of an Active Reading sheet. This work will be graded for completion. To help keep you informed about your child's progress with this requirement, you will complete a brief interview with your child each weekend. I will supply the questions for the interview. This will also be assigned a grade based on completion. When your child completes a book, he/she will complete a book interview with you. I encourage you to find a favorite space inside or outside of your home for the two of you to have this weekly, ten to fifteen minute appointment. You may want to start with a favorite beverage or snack as you take time to talk to your amazing sixth grader about their reading.
