October
Wednesday-October 1 Class work: Today we reviewed the paragraph lessons #10-12. Students completed these lessons last Wednesday. On Thursday of last week, we had class discussions about the paragraph lessons. On Friday we began to revise answers. Today students were to redo any mediocre work and turn the lessons in. Next we read several paragraphs about Peter.

Homework: grammar worksheet (noun determiners, prepositional phrases, verbs, and subjects) Be sure to use the yellow reference sheet about noun determiners to help you.
Thursday-October 2
Friday-October 3
Monday-October 6 Class work: Today we were in the computer lab typing the paragraph about Peter. We reread, revised, edited, typed, reread, and printed our paragraph. Then we turned it in.
Homework: Complete the R/S prediction.
Tuesday-October 7 Class work: Today we evaluated and graded our R/S predictions from last week. Then we reviewed our reading goals from the past week and set new ones for this week. Finally we created a line graph of our MAP reading results.
Homework: Complete a R/S prediction.
Wednesday-October 8 Class work: Today we recorded our MAP results on our line graph and bar graph. We also learned about infinitives. Infinitives are the word "to" plus a verb.
Homework: Grammar 1.5. If you didn't hand in your paragraph about Peter you need to do that tomorrow.
Thursday-October 9 Class work: Today we graded the grammar worksheet and recorded the grade. Many students redid the work for an improved grade. We also completed a graphic organizer for the vocabulary word "relevant."
