Make-Up Work

The classroom policies listed below represent some of the important guidelines that students will need to be aware of and follow to have a successful & productive school year. Exceptions to some of these policies will be made in cases of medical, family, or other emergencies.

  • Late assignments = 1 day late only & an automatic -15% deduction

  • "No name" papers = automatic -10% deduction

  • Typing up some assignments when allowed by the teacher = automatic extra-credit

  • No make-up work will be given for assignments never turned in!!!

  • Extra-credit will be periodically offered by the teacher to everyone in a variety of ways...not given to a student upon request

  • Tests/quizzes not made-up in a timely manner will be penalized
  • Many students will be absent throughout the school year. It is ultimately their responsibility to get their make-up work for the day(s) they were absent. If Mr. Obregon is unable to get them their make-up work during class, then they must come in during lunch or RS period to get caught up. If and when a student is absent, they must do the following...

    1) Copy & update both their calendar and assignment chart for the day(s) they were absent. This can be done in class in one of two ways: copying from the whiteboard or by using a special notebook near the baskets which contains a calendar & assignment chart that is updated daily per quarter.

    2) Speak directly with Mr. Obregon & follow through with the information & instructions on the "MAKE-UP WORK" sheet given to a student when they are absent (see sample passage below). This sheet briefly lists what was done in class (and due dates) on a daily basis. All make-up assignments and notes will be attached to this sheet. If anything was "due" or turned in on the day(s) the student was absent, this will be noted on the "MAKE-UP WORK" sheet (Due = Ch 1/Section 1 Activity). It is the student's responsibility to turn in these assignments as well.
