Welcome To 7th Grade Social Studies And Humanities!
Hi! I am Mr. Panneck and I welcome you to 7th grade social studies or humanities. I am happy to have you in class this year and am enthusiastic about making this year a success as we work together! I believe:

*In the uniqueness of every student
*In giving every student a seat at the table of success
*In academic excellence
*In hard work and honesty
*In stewardship of time, talent, and treasure
*In parental involvement
*In serving one another

Class Content And Assessment
Seventh grade social studies will study the history of the United States from the antebellum South through the Great Depression. Also, students will study fundamental civic, economic, and geographic concepts.

Seventh grade REACH humanities is co-taught with Ms. Reents and is a 2-period block which combines social studies and language arts. Our social studies content will cover the pre-Civil War period to the Great Depression. Our language arts content combines teaching advanced reading and writing skills which meet our district and state language arts and 21st century work skills standards and will support the 7th grade social studies state standards.

Every student will begin with an A+ at the beginning of each quarter. At the end of each quarter it is possible for all my students to be assessed at the highest level and receive A's.

A = 90-100%
B = 80-89%
C = 70-79%
D = 60-69%
F = 59% below

*Grade printouts will be issued about every 3 weeks. They need to be signed by a parent/guardian and returned for a grade.
*Expect homework every week. Homework is usually issued every Thursday and due back the following Thursday. The homework hotline is 696-6730 x4.
*Late work is not accepted unless prior arrangements have been made or you have an excused absence. Students with excused absences will be allowed to complete the graded work they missed within the same amount of days they were out of school.
*Make-up work: If you are absent, please check the Assignment Notebook for work missed. All handouts will be found in the "Baby Blue Box". It is the responsibility of the student to make-up all missing work, tests, and quizzes after being absent.
*Papers without a student name will not receive credit.
*Cheating is an automatic 0% and the parent/guardian will be notified.
*I do give bonus points and extra credit.
