Thursday 1/14 BW: What do people of the opposite sex say about you? If you were to temporarily switch places with someone of the opposite sex, who would you want it to be? WHY?

-Share “Did I Miss…” poem and TURN IT IN!
-Get your poetry terms STAMPED!
-Write a "rap" with the following format:
1st line alliteration - at least 3 words
2nd line assonance - at least 3 words
3rd line consonance - at least 3 words
4th line onomatopoeia - at least 3 words
*You may have more than 3 words in each line, but at least 3 have to follow the pattern.

-Write a "PMS" poem:
1st line - personification
2nd line - metaphor
3rd line - simile
All lines should be somehow related.

-Write a "Gender Switch" poem. "Poof" you've changed genders! Write a poem as a member of the opposite sex! For example, if you are a girl, pretend to be a boy writing about boy stuff. You may write about yourself! MINIMUM 10 lines!

Monday 2/22/10 : BW: How do you refer to the author once you’ve stated his or her full name in your essay? What’s the best way to decide on a title for your essay?
-Get your rough draft STAMPED!
-Peer editing and review- make sure you have at least one person edit and review your essay! 1. Make sure there is a thesis-based title and that body paragraphs support the thesis. 2. Make sure the intro paragraphs and conclusion paragraphs have what they need! 3. You must use the literary present tense when writing about literature. 4. Eliminate prohibited pronouns! Do not use "you, your, I, we, us, or our, my, or myself" in your essay!
