Expectations
• Responsibility- It is expected of you to be responsible for your actions and work ethic.
• Respect- Please be respectful of your peers, teachers, and yourself.
• Safety- Dance is a physical and strenuous activity so please make sure you take care of your body and respect your body’s limits. Report any injuries immediately.
Dress Code
• CDO colors along with black and white will be the only colors allowed. Dance shirts from CDO dance concerts may be worn. Please follow CDO dress code as well.
• Jazz Pants, Yoga pants, Sweats and cheer shorts are allowed as long as spandex shorts are visible.
• T-shirts hinder movement and do not allow you to see correct body alignment and although it is not required, I highly suggest not wearing baggy shirts.
• Black jazz shoes are required for the concert. I suggest getting them earlier because the stores will run out of shoes. No socks are allowed for your own safety! Street shoes need to be worn to and from the dance and locker room.
Grading
• 15 pts. a day based on participation and dressing out properly
• 10 pts. will be given for a non dress and not following the proper dress code. If you do not dress out you must still participate. If you decide to not participate you will be given an assignment in class.
• 7 pts. will be given if you are tardy.
• 0 pts. will be given for all absences. Excused absences can be made up by attending tutor time.
Performance
• Dress rehearsals and performances are and is a large part of your class grade. There will be no make-up work allowed for missing a rehearsal or performance unless there is an illness or a family emergency.
• Monday May 3rd- Tech Rehearsal 3:30-?
Tuesday May 4th- Dress Rehearsal 3:30-?
Wednesday May 5th and Thursday May 6th- Performance 5:30-?
