Title I Reading Intervention
Welcome The Keeling Reading Room
We in the Keeling Reading Room are excited to be working with your children. We look forward to a wonderful school year. My goal is to help your children reach their full potential as readers. Reading is becoming a more important skill in the 21st century and our children cannot succeed without becoming competent readers! I care passionately that all students readers who can succeed at and enjoy reading and I care passionately about your children.
Mrs. Johnson
I have been teaching for 20 years. I graduated from Montana State University and have taught in California, Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona. I finished my reading endorsement in Wyoming and have continued taking classes here at the University of Arizona. I love to read, go camping, cook and spend time with my family. I love working here at Keeling to have the chance to work with your wonderful children!
Curriculum
We use the Houghton Mifflin Reading Intervention program along with any modifications we feel are necessary to teach the skills your child needs. The younger children are learning to decode new words and to use the content to help them predict and unknown word. Older children are focusing on comprehending what they read, organizing information, and learning new vocabulary. Both groups are taught the skills they need as necessary.
