Concert Choir Goals
The student will develop music appreciation skills through listening, research and active discussion. The student will develop sight-reading and sight-singing skills through practical application opportunities. The student will develop vocal skills through daily practice. The student will develop confidence through live perfromances and develop teamwork skills in the classroom. The student will have opportunites to participate in live performances.
Repertoire & Concerts
2008-09 Repertoire includes music by the Jonas Brothers and Colbie Callait, contemporary composers Imant Raminsh and Paul Gibson. Students will also study classical, jazz, and American and Mexican folksongs. Holiday music includes African Noel, Song of Hanukkah, the jazzy Dig That Crazy Santa
Claus and Hot Chocolate from "The Polar Express".

Music Festival
Concert Choir received a SILVER rating at the Forum Festival at Fullerton College in California in April 2008, placing them in the top 20% of Middle School Choirs in the nation. The choir has received four golds and two silvers in the last six years. Students will participate for the eighth time on Friday, April 17, 2009. Our more than sixty singing members will perform three selections onstage and receive written and taped comments from nationally known clinicians. Choir, Band and Orchestra will celebrate the rest of the day at Disneyland. Students must follow district eligibility guidelines, and follow the Chorus Agreements to participate.
