Welcome to La Cima Middle School

Welcome to La Cima 6th grade and my homepage. I have enjoyed teaching at La Cima for the last seven years, and working with the students and their familes. This is my sixth year on the Europe Team teaching math. I also tutor in the After School Tutoring program (La Cima ACHIEVE) with all the sixth graders. ACHIEVE is available from 345pm till 530pm and the students go home on the activity bus. There is no charge for the tutoring and we provide the students with a light snack. All students were enrolled in Achieve at registration time. Please encourage your child to take advantage of this program!
New this year is our Math Counts Club that will participate in online and local math competitions. This will be offered to our 7/8th graders and will be coordinated by Ms. Mihalko. Visit the Math Counts site at www.mathcounts.org
We also have the Counting Cardinals for 6th graders with Ms. Kimminau. If you are interested in joining please contact the teacher.
We are planning a variety of family functions in Sixth Grade, including a family math night. Please take time to look at the all various resources available to both students and parents on my site. Parents are welcome to sign up as volunteers in the Achieve Program, and also attend to brush up on your math skills.
