The REACH Program at Copper Creek REACH is a partnership between classroom teachers and the REACH teacher.
Kindergarten students are visited in their classrooms by the REACH teacher for observations during the first semester of the year. Referred Kindergarten students are later tested, for placement the following year. During 4th quarter, newly-identified Kindergarten students meet with the REACH teacher for introductory activities.
The REACH teacher provides testing opportunities in February for grades K-5, preparatory to placements of identified REACH students for the following school year.
Previously identified 1st through 5th grade REACH students are visited in their classrooms by the REACH teacher during regular class time. The classroom teacher and the REACH teacher coordinate activities, extensions, alternative assessments, and tutoring or specific teaching of higher level materials for those students.
All REACH students meet as grade-level groups twice monthly to discuss gifted issues and concerns.
