Mrs Sorg's Gifted Philosophy
I firmly believe ALL children have gifts.
There are gifts in many areas.
REACH services are for students whose gifts fall into either Verbal, Non-verbal, or Quantitative reasoning categories.
Children with other gifts are considered to be served appropriately within the regular classroom, without the need for REACH services.
I am allowed to teach, be friendly to, and assist all the children at the school. I am mandated by law to provide gifted services to identified REACH students.
I am responsible for providing REACH students with the language, concepts and framework they need to understand themselves and claim the education they deserve.
I believe gifted children are as different from each other as they are different from the balance of the population.
