Ever wonder where blues, Jazz, modern dance, Avant-garde painting and poetry came from? This unit will delve into the American time period between 1900 and 1935. Students will be asked to create something to synthesize all that they have learned about the people and places that have shaped America ever since.

objective: to listen, see, and read about artistic rebels in American history
outcome: Students will write a Newspaper article about an entertainer in first person point of view.
Students are to pretend that they are writers for a newspaper of that time period,writing a review of the performance. See document for more directions.
