Welcome To Mrs. Purvis' First Grade
Welcome to my class! Children in my class will enjoy a warm, nurturing, interactive learning environment. We have a "Bee" theme in our classroom. We will "Bee" busy learning through integrated thematic units. Several of the units covered are: insects, native americans/pilgrims, holidays around the world, the tundra, the ocean, and the rainforest. We will do alot of exciting activities this year and my hope is that all of the children will leave my class loving school and thirsting for more knowledge.

General Information
My husband and I are both native Tucsonans. We have three children ages 26, 23, and 20. I received my Bachelors of sScience in Public Administration from the U. of A.. I have a post-bacc. in elementary education from U. of A.. I have taught in the Amphitheater Public District for 18 years in Kindergarten, First, and Third. I also participate in the Career Ladder Program, a professional development growth program, during the school year. I recently completed my National Board Teacher Certification and am awaiting my test scores. In my free time I enjoy competitive barrel racing, scuba diving, reading, and watching my daughter play basketball.
