Welcome to 3rd Grade!

You have reached the web page for Peggye Springetti, 3rd grade teacher at Harelson Elementary School. There are many educational and informational links on the navigation bar to the left. Contact Mrs. Springetti by e-mail or leave a message at 696-6051.

Meet Peggye Springetti:

My name is Peggye Springetti and I love teaching! I am a graduate of the University of Arizona and have been teaching in Amphi for 17 years. My husband and I have 3 children. My oldest daughter, Alexandria, is married and I have 2 grandchildren. My son Chad is 17 and my youngest daughter Hope, is 10. They have all attended Harelson, Hope is currently in 5th grade. We love Tucson and have lived here since 1987.

I have always believed that learning should be a joyful experience. If kids look forward to going to school then they are going to learn! It is that simple. I am looking forward to another great year in Amphitheater School District.

Parents/Students: One way books are leveled is by lexile, (ability). To find a lexile level (ability level) of a book, go to www.lexile.com. Type the name of your book in the "Quick book search" field to show a listing of titles. Scroll through until you find your listing.

Students can find their lexile level by taking the NWEA Reading MAP test. We will be taking this computerized test in August, January, and again in May. Lexiles are included on the student reports and I will be sharing this with the students and their parents after each round of tests.

Make sure your children are choosing novels at their ability level; not too easy or too hard. If you need assistance finding a lexile level or appropriate reading material, e-mail me and I can help you.

Students: The Stop Bullying Website can be found by clicking on the link below.
