Welcome to 5th Grade!

Meet Peggye Springetti:

My name is Peggye Springetti and I love teaching! I am a graduate of the University of Arizona and have been teaching in Amphi for 15 years. My husband and I have 3 children. My oldest daughter, Alexandria, is married and my first grandchild will be born any day now. My son Chad is 15 and my youngest daughter Hope, is 8. We love Tucson and have lived here since 1987.

I have always believed that learning should be a joyful experience. If kids look forward to going to school then they are going to learn! It is that simple. I am looking forward to another great year in Amphitheater School District.

Parents/Students: Books are leveled by lexile, (ability). To find a lexile level (ability level) of a book, go to www.lexile.org.
Click on the "Family" tab and type the name of your book in the "Quick book search" field to show a listing of titles. Scroll through until you find your listing.

Students can find their lexile level by taking the NWEA MAP tests. Lexiles are included on student reports.

Make sure your children are choosing novels at their ability level; not too easy or too hard. If you need assistance finding a lexile level or appropriate reading material, e-mail me and I can help you.

Students: The Stop Bullying Website can be found at www.stopbullyingnow.hrsa.gov/
