Homework
• Every night. Expect it! Never ask, “Do we have math homework?” Instead, you should ask, “What is my math assignment tonight?”
No late homework accepted unless you have an excused absence. If something should come up unexpected, leave me a message that night and we'll work something out the next school day. Otherwise, no credit will be given for the missing unexcused assignment.

Your homework is one the most important pieces of this class. Homework from the textbook is graded on effort alone. It’s real simple. Try every problem and show your work and you get 100% credit! (They don’t have to be all correct, just honestly tried.) However, if the homework is incomplete or there appears to be a lack of effort or I can’t find work shown, then the assignment is worth 0%. I’m rewarding effort on homework, not ability. In other words, don’t leave any problems blank and show work! Try something, anything that seems reasonable and write it down.

The Checksheet
All students will keep a checksheet in the front cover of their math binder. Mr. Warrick uses this sheet to record whether each homework receives a check or a zero. Mr. Warrick will collect this sheet just before each test and count up your check marks. This is how each student will receive credit for their homework. This is a great tool for parents to check quickly and easily if their child is doing their homework on a daily basis.

Students will also record test and quiz grades on this document. Check it often!

Testing
Students will take a chapter test after every chapter, a midterm and a final exam. Retaking exams is allowed (and possible required) if you score less than 70%. However, the highest grade you can earn on the retake is 70%. Be ready for the test the first time.
