What to Expect in My Class
In 6th grade language arts, we work on reading, writing, grammar and spelling. We will be reading several novels (including From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler and Tuck Everlasting).We will be using Six Traits of Writing to improve your writing skills, particularly the areas of Ideas and Content, Organization, Word Choice, and Conventions. Morphographic Spelling is the program we use (no weekly tests or weekly list of words to memorize!!!). We will also do an extensive poetry unit.
