This Week's Unit: "The Blob" Chapter 2
8th period will continue learning about the story from "The Blob". Our grammar and writing will include adjectives to make a more interesting story and dialogue writing.

8th Period SEI will be learning English through vocabulary, grammar, and writing.

Vocabulary: Words to be used in writing:
We will use these Vocabulary words in our writing this week:

1.flesh - skin
2.slithering - moving like a snake
3.slimy - wet
4.deserted - empty
5. absorb - swallow, take in
6. gag - joke
7. rigged - fixed
8. feed us the story - tell
9. stunt - trick
10. put-up - pre-arranged

Also we will use:

1. envy - to wish for, jealousy
2. peered - looked
3. gasped - breathe in loudly
4. amputate - to cut off
5. ooze - leak, come out of
6. weeping - crying
7. jabbed - stabbed or poked
8. clinging - holding onto
9. hollow - empty
10. swiftly - quickly

Any words from the past units that the students use in stories will give them extra credit.

*Students will also use words from 7th period SEI and 4th period SEI.

Subject pronouns and object pronouns - He is the coach. The team goes to him.
Reflexive pronouns – “He talks about himself.”
Possessive nouns – Add ‘s if the noun is single. – “This is the dog’s food.”
Add s’ if the noun is plural and ends in “s” – “All the dogs’ food is here.”
