What to Expect in My Class
|
In 6th grade language arts, we work on reading, writing, grammar and spelling. We will be reading books related to the social studies units (for example the Middle Ages, ancient Egypt, and Greek mythology). We will be using Six Traits of Writing to improve your writing skills, particularly the areas of Ideas and Content, Organization, Word Choice, and Conventions. Morphographic Spelling is the program we use (no weekly tests or weekly list of words to memorize!!!). Look forward to a poetry unit second quarter which culminates (ends) with a poetry reading for your parents.
