Task

Your task is to recreate your manor as it looks in 1322 A.D. Your group will create it first on paper and then as a 3-D model, which you will present to the rest of the class.

When researching, look for:

Buildings/structures found on the manor
what construction materials are used?
what buildings would be necessary?

Crops grown on the manor
include a fallow and other fields that would be found

Population of the manor
who lives there?
where do they live on the manor?

what types of housing would be found there?

Services needed within the manor
what would be needed to keep the manor
running smoothly?
what buildings would need to be on a manor?

Animals living on the manor
where would they be?
what types?

Land and water features found on the manor
streams, rivers, and/or lakes?
hills, flat land? forests? meadows? pasture land?

Role of religion on the manor and in medieval society what buildings would that include?

Trading
did it occur?
with whom?
what did they trade?
how did they travel?

Be sure to plan how you can show all of the above components in your model so they demonstrate your understanding of life on a manor. How will you construct it? Who will present which part? How will you explain your life on the manor?
