The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics document Principles and Standards for School Mathematics states:
"We live in a mathematical world. Whenever we decide on a purchase, choose an insurance or health plan, or use a spreadsheet, we rely on mathematical understanding."
and
"The opportunity to experience mathematics in context is important. Students should connect mathematical concepts to their daily lives, as well as to situations from science, the social sciences, medicine, and commerce."
and
"Students from prekindergarten through grade 12 should see and experience the rich interplay among mathematical topics, between mathematics and other subjects, and between mathematics and their own interests."

In other words, Math Is Everywhere, and students should be given opportunities to experience math in many contexts. This site is an attempt to provide resources for teachers who are integrating mathematics topics into many other content areas. Follow the links to the left to find lesson plans and links to interactive sites that integrate math topics with other curriculum areas.
