About Mr. Clingaman
|
I grew up in Springfield, Ohio and went to Kent State University. After teaching in my hometown for one year I moved to the BIG city of Detroit, Michigan where I taught in small private school for ten years. My parents were "snowbirds" here in Tucson. I came out to visit them one winter and fell in love with the desert, the mountains, and the climate. I moved to Tucson 21 years ago and have been teaching in the Amphitheater school district for 20 years.
I enjoy teaching 6th grade Social Studies where students will learn about early humans and the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome. We will also spend time exploring the Middle Ages of Europe. This was an exciting time!
I enjoy my two pet birds (check them out at the link to the left). I love to travel to see how other cultures live. I have traveled to Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, and I went to Singapore and Bali to celebrate my 50th birthday. |
