The book Travel Team by Mike Lupica is about a kid named Danny and his parents have been divorced for several years and his dad was In the NBA but has been retired. His dad returns home and his mom and his dad are talking and getting along. So his dad decides to move back in and start a basketball team after Danny was cut by the school travel team. Danny’s team isn’t very good. they start off horrible but they still get in the tournament Danny’s team does really good.

Wyatt is a teenage boy who goes to live with his Uncle Spade. Uncle Spade travels a lot and sells things. Wyatt isn’t quite sure what exactly Uncle Spade sells, but he earns a lot of money doing it. Wyatt is very tall and looks a lot older then he really is. One day Wyatt and Uncle Spade are at the fair and while Uncle Spade is making a deal, Wyatt decides to sign up for a pig wrestling contest. During this contest, Wyatt punches the pig in the nose and after that punch Uncle Spade decides Wyatt should become a fighter.
