* The first bell rings at 8;40, and school begins promptly at 8:45. Kindergarten students are walked to the bus or parent pick-up area at 3:10 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. On early out Tuesday we will dismiss at 1:05. If you are picking your child up at school, please meet them in front of the office. If your child rides the bus home, please remember that kindergarten students are not let off the bus without an adult at the bus stop to meet them.

* If you need to change your child's dismissal plans, please send a note first thing in the morning, or leave a message with the office.

* Please remember to wear comfortable clothing to school which you don't mind getting dirty on the playground. Please remember the school dress code, including no spaghetti straps or flip-flops.

* Monday is PE day. Make sure you wear appropriate shoes.

* Weekly homework assignments can be found in the upper right hand corner of the newsletter. If homework requires specific work papers, such as the Math Links, they will be sent home in Friday folders.

* Occasionally I will include in the newsletter a wish list of items that we can use in the classroom for special activities. Some things we can always use are: zip loc bags (all sizes), Mr. Clean magic erasers, hand sanitizer, and peanut free snacks.

* Snacks and treats: Our classroom is peanut free. We would love snack donations for all to share, but please check the label to make sure they are peanut free. All snacks must be store bought. If you would like to bring a treat for your child's birthday, please let me know at least two days ahead of time (so that we don't double up). Birthday treats must be store bought and peanut free. Please do not send a cake unless it is a cupcake cake.

* It is important that the kids stay hydrated, especially in this hot weather. We have a drinking fountain on the playground and one in the classroom which students can use when they are thirsty. Students may also bring a water bottle to drink in the classroom. Juice, milk, and sports drinks are great lunchtime beverages, but they are not allowed in the classroom.

* Please do not bring toys to school. Toys which distract our learning will be taken and kept in a tub in my office. Parents must come to claim the toys; they will not be returned to students, only to parents. I cannot guarantee the safe return of any toys, so please do not bring them to school.
