Welcome to Mr. Celi's 8th Grade Science
| | contact Mr. Celi | The focus of our science class will be to examine environmental and ecological problems that we face today while covering the current science standards for the 8th grade level. I am a true believer of necessary writing skills as a positive method of assessment and incorporate both reading and writing development in our content area. I expect all of my students to keep up with current science topics in the news and often require current events with summaries and opinions on the topics in a written format.
This website is a work in progress and is in its infancy. Please be patient as it will change often and hopefully grow in a positive fashion as my technology skills increase and time allows. I will make every attempt to update the "current assignments" link, knowing that there will be times where classwork will take precedence over data entry. |

A Quick Overview Of Our Curriculum....

We will attempt to explore the very foundations of all of the environmental problems our world now faces, specifically honing in on water, pollution and energy here in the southwest of the United States.
How we deal with environmental issues often require a "balancing act" between what is an ideal situation and what is practical and cost effective. This means that we will need to examine what "risk" is, how to manage "risk" and the relationship between choices and consequences. |
