Week of March 23rd Monday - Begin Assertiveness Training
(handout) Define assertive, passive, aggressive,and passive-aggressive behaviors.

HW: Students are to watch a TV show for 30-60 minutes (or a movie) and identify at least 10 behaviors and fill in the handout.
Character-Describe what they did-Identify behavior
A PARENT SIGNATURE IS REQUIRED after watching the show.

Handshake Assignment - go up to an adult, smile, look them in the eyes, have some form of polite greeting,and a firm handshake. This ENTIRE assignment can be completed at school. Students need to acquire 20 pts. Administrators = 5pts, staff/teachers that they don't know (or other adults that parents approve of)= 3pts, staff/teachers/or adults they know = 1pt. Can have up to 25pts for 5pts extra credit.

Thursday - Finish Native American information and begin Storyboards.
Storyboards - Choose one Native American Group
Students will create a storyboard (like a comic strip) of six squares.
Each square will have a picture and a caption - no longer than 2 sentences.
Students will tell the story of how their group adapted to their enviornment.

Parent book interview - students are to read a fiction or non-fiction book on the middle ages. The library has a cart of books set up for us.
Students are to read the book and dicsuss it with their parents. There is a yellow handout titled - Parent Book Interview - that parents are to follow and grade accordingly, sign, date and have students turn in. There is a typo - #7 Symbolism is misspelled.
I will accept these until THURSDAY, MAY 14th - NO LATER
