Come blog with me!
Parents and Students,

I have started a class online for my students to blog. Blogging is a form of communication that is posted to the Internet for students in REACH Humanities to read and participate in. Students have the opportunity to respond to posts about class related topics with their friends and classmates. It is a great participation tool, which I will show the kids how to use. This is a completely private webpage that only students with the class key can access. To access the class blog, students go to www.nicenet.org and click on the section where students join a class. Enter the key code I have provided to in class.

Important: Students put in a user name (use your first name, initial of your last name, and P__ - the period you have my class), example: SARAMP2 - for Sara Moore in Period 2, and a password (write this down so you don't forget it). There is NO need to put in an email address, as this will eliminate unwanted emails. They also need to fill out the name section. Students should enter their full first name and last name in this section. Please remember that the only people who have access to this site are the people with the class key!!!

Parents, if you have Internet access at home, I would appreciate your help in getting the students ready to use this feature. If not, I will help register students at school. I am really excited to get this up and running and hope that your child shares my excitement in blogging! Please ask them periodically to share what they are blogging about! I want you involved as well!

Topics that I post will be specifically related to the Gifted student's and welcome them to share their experience and perspective. I will let the students know when I have posted a topic and will encourage their effort to discuss the topic with other students.

Have fun blogging!

Ms. Moore

P.S. Remember that all students have signed the acceptable use policy. If any student breaks the policy, I will be forced to delete their post and deny them access for the remainder of the year. Please make sure that all posts are appropriate for students to read.
