Course Description,
The students will grow in their appreciation of the arts by experiencing, learning, and creating art. The art program is designed to inspire students to use art to express and communicate. Students will be expected to follow directions, participate in activities and complete all projects and assignments. This class will cover criticism, aesthetics, studio art, art history, and career art.

Our Class Expectations are:
1. Come to class on time
2. Be prepared
3. Have a good attitude
4. Work hard and use your time wisely
5. Follow Directions
6. Keep your work area clean

Our Class Procedures are:
1. Sit in your assigned seat
2. Listen for teacher instruction
3. Collect supplies
4. Studio work
5. Clean up
6. Return to assigned seats

Grades
Portfolio, Sketchbooks, Folders
Each student will be responsible for his or her sketchbooks and folders. They will be asked to keep their assignments in class so they can organize a portfolio. All of these things will be graded at the end of the marking period; portfolios will be due for grading at the end of the semester.


Projects & Major Assignments:
A rubric for each project will be posted prior to the due date. Most rubrics will be broken down into: 25% for Craftsmanship, 25% for Attitude & Effort, and 50% for Requirements/ Concepts (skills). Grades should be available online.

Tools:
Students are expected to handle tools responsibly. Please be careful not to damage our classroom tools. Students who misuse or are careless with our tools may loose the privilege to use them.

Safety:
Students are expected to follow all safety tips, rules, and procedures. Not doing so could result in injury to another student or even yourself! It is extremely important to follow directions!!!!
