| A LETTER TO MY NEW FIRST GRADERS |
Dear First Grader,
Welcome to first grade! I am so excited about having you in my class! I know you are going to enjoy all the wonderful activities that I have planned for you!
It's important that you carry a backpack to school each day. It's also handy to have a pocket folder for taking important papers to and from school.
Our classroom is room 10 and it is Bear Country. I will be mailing you a letter very soon. I hope you can come to visit me and see our classroom on Meet the Teacher day. It is on Wednesday, Aug. 6th. I will have a surprise waiting for you. It would be best if you brought your school supplies and donations to school on Wednesday. That way we can get everything put away and will be ready for the first day.
School begins on Thursday, August 7th. I will meet you at our back door.I hope that if you are going to be riding the bus most of the time that you will come to school on the bus on your first day of school. It will help you to know what to do right from the start.
I'll be seeing you very soon and be ready to give you a big BEAR hug, if you want one.

A LETTER TO MY FORMER FIRST GRADERS
Dear Student,
I hope you have a great year in whatever grade you are going to be in. Come and visit me if you have a chance on Wednesday after you meet your new teacher.
I will be watching to see all the great things you do during this new school year. If you need some help or just someone to talk to, I will be there for you. Just let me know. Remember to be kind, do your personal best and read those A.R. books!

Have a great school year and remember that "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my student you'll be."
