Mrs. Walker has a treasure chest in her office for kids when it's their birthday. Birthday Bear wanted to see it. Corduroy went to the library to see the book that was written about him. We found Food Bear in the Cafenasium by the milk. BRING YOUR BEAR TO SCHOOL DAY Attendance Bear was next to the basket in the front office. We marched around the room with our bears as we listened to the Teddy Bear Picnic song! We read about teddy bears. The teddy bears went to recess. We had a teddy bear picnic during our lunch. OUR MOTHER GOOSE FESTIVAL AFTER THE FESTIVAL OUR VISIT WITH MR. FRIZZLE GO, CUBS, GO! After reading a fantasy story about a rooster, we had a surprise visit from Mr. Frizzle! OUR APPLE EATING CONTEST Maybe next year! Eating apples with your hands behind your back isn't easy. Now that's determination! The winner of our contest is very proud! After we had a first place winner the children kept eating, but stopped to pose for some pictures. Our second place winner is happy! They just kept eating and posing! THE HAWK WALK The walk began. Walking can be so much fun! At one point there were bubbles floating around us. We loved the silly string! Meeting the hawk was exciting. Trader Joe's Treats We enjoyed the otter pops at the end of the walk. We are excited about our treats! OUR BUCKELEW FARM TRIP "Look what I found!" OLYMPIC FIELD DAY FUN! Tug of War Torch Relay OUR HARVEST PARTY Donut on a String We are the CHAMPIONS in Tug-of-War and Shuttle Relay! Bat Bowling Candy Corn Bingo Our Craft Center Scarecrow Relay OUR THANKSGIVING CENTERS We played the game of Nine Pins just like the Pilgrims did. We made magnets and 3-D turkeys to take home as decorations for our homes. This ring and pin game that the Wampanoag's played was not easy, but fun for many children. HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS PLAY We made wampam and deerskin bracelets. The Who's are ready to sing! The Maxes are waiting for the Grinches to call them. The Narrators are enjoying the play. The Grinches can't stand the singing! And they tied a red ribbon on top of their heads. The Whos are dreaming sweet dreams. The Grinches are stealing the tree. This is little Cindy Lou Who who was not more than two. The two words that best describe you are as follows and I quote, "Sink, Stank, Stunk!" You're mean one, Mr. Grinch! "Let's make a Merry Christmas wish." "Let's ride a Merry Christmas sleigh." "A very Merry Christmas song!" The play was a huge success! We learned about Hannukah The menorah is getting lit. We had cookies with Hannukah symbols on them. Playing the dreidel game was very exciting! OUR CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY PARTY The dreidel spins and the children win. At this center the children frosted and decorated a cookie that they ate later in the morning. Don't those cookies look beautiful! The children are making a cracker to take home. "Look at my beautiful cracker!" At this center the children made ornaments. These boys are really concentrating! Some children enjoyed hearing a holiday book read to them. Many children read a holiday book to themselves. These children decided to dance to the music that was playing during our centers. After the 4 centers were finished we hit the pinata. 100th DAY OF SCHOOL Zero the Hero and his cousin, Indy led the march. We had a bubble gum blowing contest. Who could blow the most bubbles in 100 seconds? We marched around the room with instruments as we sang the song. The judges watched closely so they could count the bubbles. OUR TALENT SHOW This is an exercise in Karate. He's a master at jumping on a pogo stick. She can make the hula hoop go for a very long time. He entertained us with his riddles and jokes. She danced "hip hop" while we sang. He walked backwards with his leg behind his head! She is a very good piano player. She was a wonderful cheerleader. He's a talented piano player. He recited a poem about Pluto and then showed us levitation. Her dancing was very entertaining. Her guitar playing was wonderful. He's showing a Tae-Kwon-Do move. She's delighting us with her dancing. This magician made the rabbit disappear. The following pictures are from the 2007-2008 school year. OUR FLANDREAU SCIENCE CENTER TRIP Look at this talented artist's drawing. ANIMAL DIVERSITY The children learned about the characteristics of the six different groups of animals. REPTILE RALLY DESERT MUSEUM MAD SCIENCE This was part of the "Dry Ice" lesson. The children learned about the the states of matter. The following pictures are from the "Earth Works" lesson. This was the result of another experiment during the "Dry Ice" lesson. The children are learning about geodes. PIRATE DAY! Will this house last the longest during an earthquake? Shiver me timbers! We are ready to read the map and find the treasure! Aarrgh! Who stole our treasure chest? Look at the pirate necklaces we made.
