Tax Credit Information 2008-2009
|
It's Never Too Early...
It's not too early to start thinking about your Arizona School Tax Credit contribution for the year 2008. You can start making contributions to your Year 2008 Arizona School Tax Credit at any time and you're correct that today is not too soon! For you to be eligible to receive the credit for 2008, schools must receive your donation by the end of the year in December. Contributions may be made in increments throughout the year, or as a lump sum up to $200 ($400 for married couples filing a joint return). Raytheon matches donation from employees and it is given as a gift/donation. If you want the money to go to your child's teacher you MUST indicate that on the form. The best way you can make sure that your child's teacher gets the money to spend is to turn it in at Copper Creek. Please check with Mrs. Pruzin to see what is most needed before you fill out your form. You will need to be very specific as to what activity you want your tax credit money to go towards.
Remember, the Arizona School Tax Credit is a Genuine "Two-fer." If you contribute to the Arizona School Tax Credit, that money might also be a "Tax Deduction" on your Federal Income Tax form. See your tax advisor or refer to Arizona Law (A.R.S. 43-1089.01) for additional details.

Pictures of Special Presentations Brought to First Grade with Tax Credit Money
|
In 2007-08 three special presentations were brought to all the first grade classes. These were funded with tax credit money.
The picture on the left shows Annawon. He is a Wampanoag man from Massachusettes. He taught the children about the Wampanoag People, the Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving. He brought many things to share and taught them some games and dances.
The picture on the right shows one of the animals that the children learned about during Reptile Rally. This was a presentation from the International Wildlife Museum. Animal Diversity was another presentation that was brought to all the first graders by the Wildlife Museum.
We had two separate lessons from Mad Science in our classroom.
