About the Teacher
This is my 20th year teaching at Copper Creek in fifth grade and in the same classroom! Although I have team taught for the past several years, I am teaching all subjects and keeping my own class this year. My background in education is: I received my bachelor degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, I received my masters degree from the University of Phoenix, and have taken a total of 24 hours of math since my bachelor's degree. I received a math endorsement for grades K-8 as a math specialist the winter of 2003-2004. I have also taken many staff development classes in the six traits, attended a spelling workshop with Rebecca Sitton, the author of our spelling curriculum, and participated in a Great Books workshop through the district to enhance reading comprehension. Last winter I received my endorsement for E.S.L. (English as a secoond language) I have also attended a district literacy conference the first of June the past five summers.
I am very lucky to love what I do and I want you to know that I truly want to help your child grow in academics, but also self esteem. Please bring any concerns to my attention as soon as possible. I want this to be a year we all remember as one of the best years your child had in school.
