About A+ Pirates: Stories of a New Generation

This is a revival of "Polished Pebbles" a compilation of student creative writing from Amphi Junior High School. Creative work from students is submitted and then selected from a staff of students.

Betty Frye served as a language arts, journalism and English as a second language teacher here until she retired. The production of "Polished Pebbles" is one of the many contributions she made to Amphi Middle School. After retiring from teaching, she worked for many years teaching adults to read. For her work with adult literacy, she was awarded the Charles E. Scripps Distinguished Service to Literach Award in 1998. She passed several years ago.
