Our goals for the year:

• Finish in first in our region
• Earn at least 30 individual medals at regionals
• Finish in top 3 of state
• Earn at least 12 individual medals at state
• Finish in top 20 in the US
• Learn lots of interesting information
• Have fun!

To reach this goal, we must all work hard. The team will meet daily in room F201 starting on Wednesday, August 12. In addition, many students have already set study sessions for spring and summer work. Those wishing to get ahead for next year should do the following

• Familiarize yourself with this year's curriculum.
• Read the plays: Antigone, Oedipus the King and Electra
• Read the USAD basic guides for Art, Economics, Literature and Music
• Read about and listen to Classical music, especially that composed by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.
• Read about astronomy.

• April 3, 2004:I have updated the Art and Music pages with links to possible curriculum.
• April 3, 2004:I have added pictures from this year. Follow the photo links in the left (green) column.
• April 2, 2004: I will begin updating this site for the first time in 2 years. The links in the left-hand column are still old, but I plan to replace them as I get additional info about the curriculum.
• April 2, 2004: We will be traveling to Flagstaff for the NAU Academic Decathlon workshop on July 8 - 10. The cost is $40 per person. Please see me for details.
• April 2, 2004: Our USAD materials should arrive around May 21. I will schedule a meeting to distribute them as soon as I know when they'll be here.

Here is the official home page for USAD. Go here to find info about test subjects, content, timelines, etc. It is especially important to check with them frequently for any curriculum updates that may have occurred.

Arizona Academic Decathlon

Here is the new Arizona Academic Decathlon page, with information about the history and success of the AAD program, important dates, forms, pictures and other good stuff. Hopefully it will be updated with the new curriculum soon.
