The staff consists of experienced teachers who are specialists in their chosen
subjects. In addition to their daily teaching responsibilities, these teachers write
individualized learning packets (ILP's) used by students to earn credit toward
their graduation.
High school students eligible for the Program include those who have entered the District past normal
admission dates; students who cannot attend school full time because of health reasons;
students who are credit deficient; students who have not performed
well in traditional high-school settings; former students who have dropped out of
school; and student-parents with job and family responsibilities.
Each student is assigned to an instructor who provides one-on-one instruction.
Specifically, the Alternative Program offers a variety of required and elective subjects
presented in an independent study format that uses individualized learning packets.
Students may also earn credit by enrolling in classes.
