for your group number (one or two)
and complete your self-evaluation.

Turn it in to your teacher when you are finished.

You will be evaluated in the following areas:

Group 1

Look in your journal. Did you complete your predictions for every chapter? Did you also confirm or revise your predictions using supporting details?
Did you make predictions about the events, setting, future events, and tone or mood?
Did you make a prediction or talk about any of the characters based on what they looked like?
Did you make any guesses about what a character might do based on what they did in the story?
For any of the chapters, did you make predictions about the characters based on how they felt or how they responded to other characters?
Did you identify a problem and guess what the resolution might be?
Did you find words from our novel with long vowel sounds and write another word with the same long vowel sound?
Did you find words from our novel with an r-controlled vowel?
Did you find 5 words from our novel that are contractions and write them in your journal?
Did you complete a project and present it to the class at the end of the unit?
Did you follow all directions and complete all activities on time? Did you work well with others and were you a good listener?
Can you recall the story events in order?
In the vocabulary section of your journal, did you divide all the words into syllables?
Were you able to figure out the meaning of words from our novel when there was more than one meaning in the dictionary?
Were you able to use prefixes or suffixes to help figure out the meaning of words?
Did you find the base or root word for any of your vocabulary words?
Were you able to find antonyms for vocabulary words after reading ch. 8?

 

Group 2

Look in your journal. Did you complete your predictions for every chapter? Did you also confirm or revise your predictions using supporting details?
Did you make predictions about the events, setting, future events, and tone/mood?
Did you make a prediction or talk about about any of the characters based on what they looked like? 
Did you make any guesses about what a character might do based on what they did in the story?
Did you make any predictions or talk about how a character might feel or how you would feel if you were the character?
For any of the chapters, did you identify a problem and guess what the resolution might be?
In chapter 6, we looked at similes and metaphors. Can you describe both?
In chapter 15, we talked about symbolism.  What did the blood bird symbolize? 
In chapter 3, we talked about foreshadowing.  Do you remember what that word means?
In chapter 7, we talked about cliffhangers. Can you remember what that means?
Did you complete the graphic organizer on cause and effect after reading chapter 15 or make cause and effect index cards after chapter 22?
