Supplies, Policies, and Expectations
for Class.

Needed Supplies
Each student needs to have a three-ring notebook with lined paper to complete assignments and to organize finished classroom assignments.
A separate spiral notebook with about 100 pages is needed to take notes and to complete the 5-Minute-Checks. This is all you would use this notebook for!
Students will need to have pencils to complete assignments. No pens are to be used to do class work.

3 by 5 index cards are needed to review vocabulary and review problems for quizzes

It is helpful to have your own basic calculator that will do basic operations. Scientific models are not necessary.

Policies
Each student will receive a textbook to keep at home for homework. This book will need to be returned in the same condition at the end of the year or when a student leaves Cross.
Students may not eat food, chew gum, or drink anything except water in class.
Grades are divided into three categories: daily assignments, quizzes and chapter tests. These categories are weighted to calculate the final grade.
  • Daily Assignments are 15% of the total grade.
  • Quizzes are 35% of the total grade,
  • Chapter Tests are 50% of the total grade.
  • Quarter grades are not cumulative; each nine-week period begins with new averages.
Students that are absent must make up assignments. Students are given the number of days absent to complete any work, and turn it in to Mr. Edwards.

Expectations
Students are expected to come prepared to class with assignments, materials, and with the intent to learn.
Daily assignments are expected the following day at the beginning of their math period. Assignments are not accepted after that time.
You are expected to show all work on daily assignments. Answers only are not acceptable for a grade.
