Ironwood Ridge High School Taekwondo,

Since 1995, Amphitheater School District in Tucson, Arizona has been the only school district in the United States that offers Taekwondo for credit as part of the Physical Education curriculum.

Why teach Taekwondo in High Schools? As an art Taekwondo looks to improve each person both physically and mentally. Seeking perfection of character to improve society as a whole. As a sport, it is now an Olympic sport with worldwide participation, it is challenging, exciting and demanding. Tenets such as courtesy, honor, integrity, perseverance,and self control are constantly taught and practiced in a safe and structured environment. All would agree that High School students would benefit from such a program.

Classes are currently offered at Ironwood Ridge High School.
