American Memory - The Library
of Congress has created this resource with lesson plans on American History,
and primary source collections, and archival material on American culture
and history. There are photographic collection, sound collections, textual
collections, and early motion picture collections.
The American Presidency – provides information from 3 different encyclopedias written at different grade levels, current presidential information, historical election results, trading cards, and more.
Archiving Early America - provides information,
actitivies and historic documents from 18th century America.
Atlapedia - contains
basic information about every country of the world. Each country has a
profile that provides facts about the climate, geography, people, religion,
language, history, and economy.
Biography Page - a database of 15,000
biographies of past and present famous people presented by A & E Television
Network.

of United States Presidents - a one page biography of each of the presidents,
with links to their inaugural addresses, information about the first lady
and a picture of the president.
Black History
Activities - this site provides excellent activities that use Internet
resources to learn about African Americans. There are activities on Black
History Month, African-American History and Slavery, African American Leaders,

You Be the Historian - Students visit the Springer household from the 1700's and are given 8 photographic clues to determine how many people lived there, what they ate, and what they did for a living. They are asked to think about what would happen if historians visited their house in the year 2050. This is a great spring board to talk about primary and secondary resources and life in the 1700's.
