WebQuests

WebQuests are Internet activities  that  promote critical thinking in students as they solve real world tasks in an inquiry based learning environment.  Most WebQuests have:

Bernie Dodge and Tom March developed the WebQuest model  at San Diego State University in 1995.
Below are some sites that provide a variety of WebQuests.

Bernie Dodge's Matrix of Examples - provides a list of WebQuests broken down by K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and adult and subject categories.

Dr. Alice Christy's WebQuest Matrix - the students of Dr. Alice Christy from ASU West have created these WebQuests.  The WebQuests are arranged by elementary, middle, and high school and by subject category.

Tech Trekkers - Debbie Rollins reviews and organizes a list of WebQuests.

San Diego City Schools Technology Challenge Fund Grant - San Diego teachers developed these standards-based Webquests as part of the TLCF grant.  The activities are broken down by grade level for K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12.

Washington Public Schools Elementary WebQuest Matrix - Washington Public Schools has a list of WebQuests for grades, K, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Washington Public Schools Middle School WebQuest Matrix - Washington Public Schools has a list of WebQuests for middle school students organized by subject areas.

CESA 8 WebQuest Matrix - Wisconsin Regional Service Network provides a list of K-12 WebQuests in a matrix showing the grade level and subject area.

A final idea is to go to a search engine and type the topic you are teaching and type it in followed by the word WebQuest and see the results you obtain. These WebQuests will not be screened like many of the sites above.
