Amphitheater Psychology Department
The Amphitheater School Psychology Department promotes
the educational, emotional and social development of each student
in the Amphitheater Public Schools by advocating for an environment
which emphasizes learning, mutual respect, self-worth, self-discipline,
confidence, cooperation and responsibility.
School psychological services include the following:
- Prevention of educational and behavioral problems through early identification and consultation.
- Identification of students'special needs through consultation, observation, and other psychological and educational assessment.
- Integration, analysis, and reporting of psychological and educational information regarding
student behavior and conditions related to learning.
- Consultation with teachers and other staff members in planning, implementing and evaluating
school programs and interventions.
- Dissemination of applied educational research.
- Liaison activities between the school and counseling organizations.
- Presentation of informational programs for students, parents, teachers and other school personnel.
- Individual and/or group counseling and crisis intervention.
