The Townshend Acts

The Townshend Acts was one of many things that angered the colonists. The British Parliament repealed, gave way, in 1766. In 1766 Charles Townshend, the minister of the Treasury, said, "Taxes are not over. You, the Americans, are still children!" In 1767, Townshend made good on his word. The acts taxed many goods brought into the colonies from Britain. Sam Adams asked the colonies to boycott the items. As a result lots of British stuff piled up in colonial stores.
